– The land of high passes
Ladakh is a region in the Indian Administered Jammu and Kashmir that currently extends from the Kuen Lun mountain range to the main Great Himalayas to the south, inhabited by people of Indo-Aryan and Tibetan descent. It is one of the most sparsely populated regions in Jammu and Kashmir and its culture and history are closely related to that of Tibet.

Leh
Leh was the capital of the Himalayan kingdom of Ladakh, now the Leh district in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir. Leh district, with an area of 45,110 km2, is the second largest district in the country. The town is dominated by the ruined Leh Palace, the former mansion of the royal family of Ladakh. Leh is at an altitude of 3524 metres (11,562 ft), and connects via National Highway 1D to Srinagar in the southwest and to Manali in the south via the Leh-Manali Highway. Leh Palace is a former royal palace overlooking the Ladakhi Himalayan town of Leh.

Nubra Valley
Nubra is a tri-armed valley located to the north east of Ladakh. Nubra river origins from Siachan glacier. Nubra valley is having scenic beauty of rarest combination of Sand dunes (A high altitude desert), River, Forest and Snow covered peaks.Local scholars say that its original name was Ldumra (the valley of flowers).

Lamayuru – The moonland of Ladakh
Lamayuru monastery is situated at a distance of 127 KM from Leh at a height of 3,510 meters. Lamayuru is known for its monastery, and for its “lunar” landscape – quaintly promoted as a “Moonscape” for tourists. The landscape is certainly incredible with its spectacularly odd geological formations, though this is not unique to Lamayuru. Lamayuru monastery is ancient, built into the ‘moonscape’. It has some beautiful frescoes and frightening masks. Visitors can also see the glassed in meditation cave of the Lama Naropa.

Shanti Stupa & Monasteries
Shanti Stupa and Monastreries like Diskit Monastery, Alchi Monastery, Hemis Monastery, Thiksey Monastery are must visit religious places.
Lakes
Tso means Lake in Tibetan language. Plenty of lakes including Pangong Tso, Tso Moriri, Tso Kar and many more makes the region more scenic.

Pangong Tso
Pangong Tso, the high grassland lake is situated at a height of about 4,350 m (14,270 ft). It is 134 km (83 mi) long and extends from India to China. Approximately 60% of the length of the lake lies in China. The lake is 5 km (3.1 mi) wide at its broadest point. All together it covers 604 km2. During winter the lake freezes completely, despite being saline water.

Tso Moriri
Tso Moriri is a lake in the Ladakhi part of the Changthang Plateau. The lake is at an altitude of 4,522 m (14,836 ft). It is the largest of the high altitude lakes entirely within India and entirely within Ladakh in this Trans-Himalayan biogeographic region. The official name of the land and water reserve here is the Tso Moriri Wetland Conservation Reserve.
High Mountain Passes
La means Pass. There are plenty of high mountain passes in Ladakh region including Khardung La, Zoji La, Fotu La, Naki La, Chang La, Lachulung La, Baralacha La.

Khardung La
Khardung La is a mountain pass located at the altitude of 5,359 m (17,582 ft) and that it is the world’s highest motorable pass for tourists. The Pass lies north of Leh and is the gateway to the Shyok and Nubra valleys.

- Day 04: – Departure for Lamyuru via Zoji La, Drass, Kargil Memorial, night stay at Lamayuru.
- Day 05: – Depart from Lamayuru, on the way visit Alchi Monastery, Fotula, Redzong / Rizong Monastery, Basgo Palace, Magnetic Hills, Confluence of Zanskar & Indus, night stay at Leh.
- Day 06: – Local Sightseeing, Shanti Stupa, Leh Palace, Sindhu Ghaat, Hemis Monastery, Thiksey Monastery night stay at Leh.
- Day 07: – Depart for Nubra, via Khardung la, night stay at Hunder / Diskit.
- Day 08: – Visit Sumur, Panamic – hot water springs, Return to Leh, night stay at Leh.
- Day 09: – Depart for Pangong Tso via Chang La, nigth stay at Pangong Tso.
- Day 10: – Depart for Tso Moriri via Chumthang valley, night stay at Tso Moriri.
- Day 11: – Depart for Jispa via Tso Kar, Moore Plains, Lachulung La, Nakee La, Gata Loops, Baralacha La, Suraj Tal, Deepak Tal, night stay at Jispa.
